The Clooneys have added a new member to their family! And no, it's unfortunately not a baby. It's an adorable Basset Hound named Millie that George and Amal rescued from the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society!

Turns out that when superstar couples look for pets, they do so like the rest of us — on Petfinder! According to the shelter's website, George and Amal were searching for Basset Hounds on Petfinder to add to their brood (they currently have two rescue cocker spaniels), when they landed on Millie.

"They were searching for a basset hound and saw Millie's picture on Petfinder," the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society said on their website. "They did a 'meet and greet' with her and spent time introducing her to their other rescue, a cocker spaniel named Louie. It was good news that Millie and Louie hit it off and the happy, new family headed home together!"

The Clooneys are notorious animal lovers. In a 2010 interview with Esquire, Clooney even mapped out how he decided to win his dog Einstein over when he came over to see if they got along. "I start to panic that Einstein is not going to like me. So I run into the kitchen, where I have these turkey meatballs, and I rub them all over my shoes," Clooney explained at the time. "This woman opens the door, and who knew Einstein was such a food whore on top of everything? He throws himself at my feet. She says, 'I've never seen him react like that, ever!' And she left him with me on the spot. And forever, now, he just thinks of me as the guy with meatball feet. He loves me. I can do no wrong. He follows me everywhere."

Now, they're an adorable family of 5! Congrats to the Clooneys!

Just as George and Amal Clooney are nearing their first wedding anniversary as husband and wife, the actor made a very special appearance as Stephen Colbert's first guest on his debut episode as host of The Late Show Tuesday night — and, much to our delight, opened up about his new wife and their life together.

Colbert prodded the leading man about his marriage, to which Clooney — who married the British human rights lawyer in a star-studded Italian wedding at Venice's Aman Canal Grande Hotel in September 2014 — joked, "They said it wouldn't last."

Colbert then followed up on the actor's marriage by asking Clooney what it's like to be "the arm candy" in the relationship. "Because she's a very serious person. She must say, 'We're going to meet some extremely intelligent people tonight,'" the Late Show host explained.

Clooney joked: "[I feel] shiny and pretty. That's mostly what I do now."

Colbert gave the two-time Oscar winner a belated wedding present — from Tiffany no less! — but not without noting that the funnyman did not receive an invitation to the nuptials. Clooney opened the iconic blue box, which contained an engraved paperweight reading, "I don't know you."

"That's just to remind you that we don't know each other," said Colbert, adding he didn't want to "do the celebrity thing" and pretend they are friends in real life.

The Clooneys will just have to invite Colbert and his wife on one of their famed date nights to continue this new friendship!

Hollywood's hottest couple is certainly enjoying the summer! George and Amal Clooney were spotted out on an intimate date night in their favorite Italian town of Lake Como holding hands and looking relaxed and happy — and good looking as ever.

The actor and his superstar lawyer wife, who married in Venice, Italy, last September, were seen leaving the Lake Como restaurant Harry's Bar Wednesday, E! News reports, with Mrs. Clooney sporting cute and summery polka dot shorts and a simple black top holding hands with her husband, who was sporting a casual outfit of seersucker pants and a button down — oh, and a growing goatee to complete his silver fox look.

The couple has been spending some of the summer at George's Lake Como villa — a property he purchased in 2001 — enjoying some rest and relaxation as well as a few houseguests. Last week, George's parents along with his wife's sister, Tala Alamuddin, joined the couple for a big family dinner, which caused quite a stir in the Gatto Nero restaurant. "The restaurant was full, but when they came in, there was much surprise and excitement," a source told E! News of their family get-together.

Apparently, the Clooneys make for very good dinner dates. One of the couple's friends, author Kathy Lette, told People earlier this week that seeing the newlyweds interact is like "watching a rom-com in front of you." Lette became friends with the British lawyer through her husband Geoffrey Robertson QC, who works with Amal. The author recently had the famous actor and his wife over for dinner and said it's clear to see the two "are mad about each other."

Lette added that it's no surprise to see why the A-list actor fell for the human-rights lawyer. "She's drop-dead gorgeous, your jaw hits the ground, but she's also very charming, funny, self-deprecating," she said, adding that fame has not changed Amal one bit. "She's as warm and down-to-earth as ever."

While George Clooney had made it clear that growing his family hasn't been a huge priority, the movie star has had a change of heart. So much so that a little less than a year into marriage, he and wife Amal Clooney are repotedly trying to have a baby.

A source close to the couple told Us Weekly that apparently Clooney is now ready to have a little one. "They decided that it would be the right time," the insider revealed. "Amal isn't taking on extra work at the moment and just continuing with the cases she has."

The high-profile duo wants to have the baby in London by next year, just in time for their $15 million renovation on their English countryside home to be completed. "The building plans include a nursery," another insider noted of the gigantic, 9,000-square foot estate. "They hope to have all the work done by Christmas."

And apparently, they're taking this very seriously. "They recently visited a fertility center," a third source added. "This is something they really want."

So, what convinced Clooney to finally decide he's ready to be a dad? His friends. "He loves the relationships his friends have with their kids," and would love to have that himself. "George is ready for this step and he thinks that Amal will be a great mother."

We can only imagine great parents they'd make! We're looking forward to an upcoming pregnancy announcement.

July 4th seems to be a popular wedding weekend for celebs! While Hollywood A-listers like Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, Vanessa Williams and Billy Joel spent the time getting hitched, Julia Roberts and husband Danny Moder spent the holiday weekend celebrating their 13th wedding anniversary!

As if the longtime lovebirds and parents of three were only marking 13 years together wasn't special enough, they had an incredible backdrop to do so: good friend George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's house in Lake Como, Italy. The family of five — Roberts and Moder brought their three littles ones along to the celebration — spent three days at Clooney's private residence along with a few other guests, E! News reports.

One fun moment? The whole family took a motorized dinghy out on the water. "It was so lovely, a real family outing," a source said of the activity. "She looked so taken with her daughter, she held her in her arms on the boat."

"Moder meanwhile was driving," the insider added. "And the boys were there, happy as they could possibly be. It was a picture of serenity, family moments."

We're not surprised that Roberts spent her anniversary at the Clooneys' since Roberts and Clooney are longtime friends. But despite their years of friendship, the Academy Award winner just recently met Amal for the first time. "We've been really good friends for a really long time and I just adore her," Clooney told E! News said of Roberts in May. "She and Amal and I went out to dinner the other night. It was so much fun to have her meet my wife and have both of them be such good friends and hit it off so well."

You can take George Clooney out of Kentucky, but you can't take the Kentucky out of George Clooney. The superstar traveled to Augusta, Kentucky, this week for a family reunion and got to show wife Amal a little bit of his down-home side while revisiting his favorite haunts.

The newlyweds made the rounds while they were in town, having dinner at a local restaurant (where they sang to a woman celebrating her birthday), going to a pub, and hitting up his favorite bakery, Magee's.

"They were fun as a couple!" Magee's bakery co-owner Russell Dickson told Us Weekly of the Clooneys, who reportedly walked into the place holding hands. "They ordered the transparent [a type of pie], that's his thing, he loves the transparent."

According to Dickson, Amal got to see one of her husband's longtime hotspots. "His family has been a customer for years, so I kind of half grew up with him always hanging around the bakery," he said. "He stops in maybe once a year or so."

During their off-time from the reunion, George also found time to get athletic. He was spotted playing basketball at Augusta High School on Wednesday with some students. "It was fun, he's still got it," one of the players told People. Not only that, but Amal stopped by to watch and "it looked like she knew the game too."

George grew up in the area, where his father Nick is a local journalist and television host. As expected, locals had fun Clooney-spotting, posting pictures on Twitter and Instagram of the lovebirds. How sweet!

You'd think that George Clooney, perpetual bachelor and often at the top of any "Hottest Man in Hollywood" list, could get any woman he ever wanted. So you could only imagine that when it came time for the movie star to get down on one knee and propose after 50 plus years of smoldering this earth the recipient of said proposal would barely let the guy finish and accept with absolute and total ecstatcy, right? Nope.

Turns out that when Clooney finally decided to pop the question to his now-wife Amal Alamuddin it took her a long time to give him an answer. A whole 28-minutes long.

During an interview with Charlie Rose for CBS This Morning the Tomorrowland star explains like us, Alamuddin was totally shocked by the proposal. "When I asked her, you know, we'd never talked about it....there wasn't like a, 'Maybe we should get married' [conversation]," he explained. "I dropped it on her!"

As for Alamuddin, she just sat there in disbelief, Clooney recalled. "I asked her, and she just kept saying, 'Oh my, God,' and 'Wow,' and we just sat there," he said. "And finally, I just said, 'Listen, I'm 53 at the time, or 52 at the time, I think. I said, 'I've been on my knee for about 28 minutes so I gotta get an answer out of this because I'm gonna throw a hip out!'"

He told Rose that while he may have surprised everyone with a proposal after only seven months, he knew right away that he wanted to marry her. "I knew fairly quickly that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Amal," Clooney said.

Remember when George Clooney was a notorious bachelor, jumping from girlfriend to girlfriend, and seemingly destined to live out the rest of his illustrious life and career without ever walking down the aisle again? We barely do. Ever since he married his wife Amal in September, he's been every bit the committed, devoted husband we always knew deep down he could be. And on Good Morning America earlier today, he further buried his former playboy prankster reputation.

"That's right, I'm a married man now," the Oscar winner said in an interview promoting his upcoming movie Tomorrowland. "Everything's different now. Actually it is. I was going to make a joke but it is, actually."

See more: The Best Celebrity Wedding Moments of 2014

Though he'd avoided marriage for much of his A-list movie star career, he has no regrets about marrying his human rights barrister wife. "I couldn't be happier," he continued. "We're having a really fun time. We're working on fixing up a house in England that we'll be spending a lot of time in just outside of London. And we've been sort of traveling the world. We're on our way to Shanghai."

He did note, though, that Amal's career — originally based out of London, she's been teaching at Columbia Law School in New York City for the past few months — has made their plan to not spend more than a week apart hard to achieve. "She actually has a day job," he said. "She has to like, get people out of jail." Her career is one of the things he loves most about her, so we're sure he's not complaining too much.

Sorry, ladies — George is a happily taken man now.

Hollywood may have the Oscars, the Emmys, and the Golden Globes, but the fashion industry has the Met Gala. A holy red carpet grail, the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute Gala annually attracts the the A-list of the A-list to flaunt some of the industry's top designers and most inspiring creations. This year's Gala, dubbed China: Through the Looking Glass, was no exception when it came to jaw-dropping gowns. Here, the looks that will most inspire brides-to-be.

Kerry Washington in Prada
The Scandal star knocked it out of the park with this bubblegum-hued Prada number. While the buoyant layers certainly made this gown eye-catching from the front, the over-sized bow and plunging straps made this look way better from the back.

Kim Kardashian in Roberto Cavalli at the 2015 Met Gala

Kim Kardashian in Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli
Leave it to Kim to wear something extra envelope-pushing. And while this Cavalli number was certainly sheer, it also incorporated some major bridal trends like an illusion bodice and feathers at the hem.

Bride-to-be Sofia Vergara was beaming on the Met Gala red carpet, and not just because she had her gorgeous fiancé Joe Magnaniello at her arm. This ethereal Marchesa number may just give us a sneak peek at her wedding-day look.

We wonder if George picked out this look. Regardless, this ruffled trumpet number featuring a corset-like bodice and flowing waves on the skirt was simultaneously form-fitting and flowing, perfect for a bride looking for something contemporary yet inherently elegant.

Wearing one of the world's most beloved bridal designers, Selena Gomez stepped out in a sleek, modern cut-out Vera Wang number. A detail that made this look extra glam? The luxe tassels hanging from her shoulders.

A high-neck and ornate, textured embroidery makes Seyfried's high-low Givenchy sheath ripe for the bridal picking.

As fierce as her on-screen character Cookie, Taraji's black-floral Balenciaga gown was just the right dose of ornate and modern, perfect for an on-trend city wedding in the winter.

Allison Williams in Giambattista Valli
The engaged Girls star looks certainly ready for her bridal moment in this larger-than-life red Giambattista Valli gown. It may be scarlet, but the voluminous tiers and embroidery at the neckline and waist beg for this to be worn to a wedding.

Sure, this fur-lined, hand-embroidered ensemble by Chinese designer Guo Pei is over-the-top, but is your train this long (and fabulous)? We didn't think so.

Of all of the fabulous red carpets and awards shows, no event is more exciting than the Met Gala. Formally called the Costume Institute Gala, the annual event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art always attracts the hottest Hollywood couples dressed in their finest outfits. It's like a glorified Halloween party (this year's theme was China: Through the Looking Glass, other years have asked attendees to dress as superheroes and punks), and there's nothing better than seeing our favorite red-carpet duos step out in total harmony. So without further adieu, here are our picks for the best pairs of the night:

Beyoncé and Jay Z (above)
Music's power couple showed up fashionably (and we mean fashionably) late, but that didn't take away from how flawless they looked hand-in-hand climbing the stairs to the Met! Queen Bey stunned in an embellished nude Givenchy gown, while Jay was dapper in a perfectly tailored tux.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
It's not the headline-making, floral-print Givenchy gown and gloves she wore to her first Met Gala with Kanye in 2013 (while she was pregnant with North!), but Kim found a way for her and her husband to get all eyes on her yet again at this year's gala. Sure, he's wearing a velvet jacket and a scarf on a hot May day, but who can tell when she's in this sheer Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli creation?

Well, if it isn't the most fashionable newlyweds! Fresh off the news that George pre-approves of all of his barrister wife's outfits, they roll up looking like absolute royalty. Amal's tiered red John Galliano gown is spot-on for the theme, as is her hubby's subtle matching pocket handkerchief.

This is them trying to prepare us for their wedding-day looks, right?! It has to be! The Modern Family star could easily re-wear this ombré Marchesa gown with rose gold embroidery to her wedding to her hunky fiancé. He can keep his outfit, too. They may not look so on-theme, but they do look on point.

Met Gala 2015 red carpet dresses couples Amanda Seyfried Justin Long

These two are still pretty new at walking red carpets together, but they seem to be adjusting just fine! Case in point: They sort of look like a bride and groom on top of a wedding cake tonight, with her in a divinely detailed Givenchy halter gown and him in a classic bow-tie and suit. Or is that just wishful thinking on our part?

Met Gala 2015 red carpet dresses couples Gabrielle Union Dwyane Wade

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade
This is the first time the actress and her NBA player husband have attended the Met Ball together, but they look like a couple that's been coordinating outfits for a long time. They didn't quite dress to the theme — minus her chic, fan-shaped purse, that is — but her long-sleeved plum-colored Zac Posen gown with the sneaky cutout in the back complements his suave suit and loafers perfectly.

Met Gala 2015 red carpet dresses couples Neil Patrick Harris David Burtka

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka
We knew that these two wouldn't disappoint! They love showing up to events (especially the ones NPH hosts!) in coordinating tuxes, and these super-classic black-and-white looks are perfect for any formal occasion or theme.

The fashion plate actress and her Dawson's Creek alum boyfriend always cut a stunning figure, and tonight is no exception. What we love is how he provides an understated contrast (hello, classic black tux!) to her more daring outfits. Her two-piece Chanel Couture ensemble is sexy, edgy, and feminine at the same time. Can you believe she doesn't use a stylist?!

Their white-out wedding in New Orleans was a sign of good joint fashion moments to come. While the singer's husband looks fresh in his tuxedo, she's set to become the talk of the town in her structural Giles Deacon design. Look how cute he is holding her hand as they go up the steps!

These newlyweds always seem so low-key (they were college sweethearts!), but when they show up on a red carpet like tonight's, it's clear that they're stars. Their corresponding black-and-white outfits are so great together — he looks dapper as ever in his tux, and her Maison Valentino gown is sweet, classy, and very event-appropriate.

Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs
These two waited to make their red carpet debut until after news of their engagement broke, but boy, did they make it count! Twigs made quite the statement in her artistic Christopher Kane gown, which her fiancé complemented quite sneakily with his unconventional tie. We love how this quirky couple presents themselves together, and now we can't wait for more public appearances!
