Olivia Palermo Beauty Advice

Whether she's walking the red carpet or sitting front row at a fashion show, Olivia Palermo always looks flawless. Sure, she's naturally gorgeous, but she's also found a (pretty, polished) formula that works. "How you wear your makeup every day is usually how you look your best," says the 29-year-old street-style star and spokesperson for La Mer and Ciaté. "Even on my wedding, I didn't change it up much." Here's how she achieves that signature look. (Hint: It's not just about the products.)

Stick to a beautifying diet.
"Eating healthily goes hand in hand with your skin-care regimen," she says. "I have a lot of fish, sushi, chicken, vegetables, and green tea. I skip coffee — too dehydrating."

Exercise.
"It's so important! Sweating helps you get out all the toxins. I do Bikram yoga and spin classes at FlyBarre."

Never sleep in your makeup.
"No matter who says they have the best makeup remover, by far it's Vaseline. It's an old-school tip from my mother, but it works really well. And it's something everyone has in her medicine cabinet."

Be prepared.
"I always carry extra bobby pins, hair elastics, and double-sided tape with me. A needle and thread too, just in case a clasp breaks."

So what products does the famous fashionista reach for when it comes to her beauty routine? See Palermo's go-to buys below.

Celeb Bridal Beauty Looks Blake Lively Olivia Palermo Elizabeth Olsen

Blake Lively makes her red-carpet return with bombshell waves, while Elizabeth Olsen goes for a dramatic side part, and Olivia Palermo opts for beachy tresses. Here, the red-carpet beauty looks we loved this week.

Blake Lively at the New York premiere of The Age of Adaline: Want to give old-school waves a modern twist? Try Blake's take, which features a French braid on the side. It's both fashionable and functional, since it will help keep your hair out of your face. Another way Blake keeps this look fresh: Instead of pairing her hairstyle with siren-red lipstick and rosy blush, she went for a deep nude, highlighter on her cheekbones, and shimmery neutral eye shadow.

Elizabeth Olsen at the European premiere of The Avengers: Age of Ultron: Much like her chic, older sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley, Elizabeth typically favors understated hair and makeup. She made her style work for the red carpet by adding a deep side part to an undone, wispy chignon. (This style is also perfect for showing off a high, embellished neckline.) Worn with black liquid eyeliner, bronze eye shadow, and rose-tinted lips, her versatile beauty look would work in just about any setting.

Olivia Palermo at the AMNH Museum Dance: The style maven usually goes for perfectly polished hair, but she changed it up this time with center-parted, bohemian waves, complete with little braids. (Perhaps she was inspired by her beachy, seashell Valentino dress? In any case, if we were getting married on the beach, this is one look we'd wear head to toe.) Her signature makeup — glowing, seemingly airbrushed skin, brown eye makeup, bronzed cheeks, and nude lips — ensured she was still evening appropriate.

Newlywed Celebrity Couples to Follow on Instagram

Photos: via Instagram

A whole host of celebrities got married this year and so many of those couples are documenting their newlywed lives on Instagram. From trips abroad to sweet moments spent together, they are giving us glimpses into their everyday lives with each post. Check out these photos from our favorite newlywed celeb couples for a sweet addition to your day.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: After the most talked about wedding of the year, the selfie queen and rap mogul have finally embarked on married life together. As you might have guessed, it's mighty stylish! From tour stops to vacations in far-flung destinations, the power couple are taking the world by storm.

Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine: Models and musicians have been falling in love since the beginning of time, thus it only makes sense for Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine to get together and tie the knot. Though we're still waiting for the pair's wedding photos to emerge on the photo sharing site, we love their fun snaps of their red carpet appearances, style choices, and special moments spent with friends.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka: As you can see, this couple loves quality time spent with their adorable children! We've all loved Neil Patrick Harris for years, but it's clear that husband David Burtka loves him just a bit more than us Doogie Howser and How I Met Your Mother fans. Family photos and lots of smiles are always present in this twosome's pictures, which brings us all a lot of joy.

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson: Jessica Simpson, takes pleasure in showing love for her husband, Eric Johnson on the 'gram with sweet family portraits and even a few silly snaps. With two beautiful children already, we cannot wait to see how the newlyweds expand their household.

Ted Gibson and Jason Backe: Love beauty? Well, so does this couple! Ted Gibson and Jason Backe are the co-owners of Ted Gibson salons all over the country and do the hair of the world's most gorgeous celebrities. If you love behind the scenes pictures, video, and funny moments, you'll love the musings of this pair.

Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent: When these two got hitched, we knew it was a match made in interior design heaven. The happy couple loves to travel and frequently posts snaps of themselves at stylish parties: both of which serve as daily inspiration.

Olivia Palermo and Johannas Huebl: On the list of the most stylish couples of this decade, our former cover girl Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl will definitely be in the top five. They're both incredibly good looking and frequent fashion shows, movie premieres, and red carpet affairs arm in arm — always looking chic.

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade: Another sartorially-savvy duo makes our list! Union and Wade had one of the most fashionable weddings of the year and though they've just tied the knot, we've already been following them both on Instagram way before they were engaged.

Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting: The last name "Sweeting" is absolutely befitting of these two as they just cannot get enough of one another — always taking the sweetest and most affectionate snaps. The Big Bang Theory actress and pro tennis player are clearly still madly in love, which gives us all a bit of inspiration.

Fashion icon and new wife (not to mention our June/July 2014 cover girl!) Olivia Palermo knows a thing or two about bridal style. When she married husband Johannes Huebl in an intimate ceremony in Bedford, New York in June, the fashion-forward bride wore a custom-made Carolina Herrera ensemble, which featured a sweater, shorts, and tulle overskirt.

Her unexpected choice wasn't surprising given Olivia regularly pushes fashion boundaries in her day-to-day life. "Getting ready for a special event, like your wedding day, you have to feel like yourself and dress for your environment," Olivia tells the New York Post of her bridal outfit. "I really wanted to dress like me."

And it looks like her nontraditional bridal style may have inspired other celebs — like Ashlee Simpson who recently married in not one, but two different two-piece ensembles.

And for fans of the fashion-maven's enviable bridal style, we have some great news: You'll likely get to see it all over again. Late last month, Olivia spoke with the Daily Mail Australia and revealed she and Johannes are planning to host another celebration for family and friends who were unable to attend their intimate nuptials.

"You know it was a nice, small quiet day for family and as some point we will do something a little bit bigger," Olivia said.

Whether or not she and Johannes do plan that second reception, don't plan on calling her Mrs. Huebl. Olivia told Hello! Fashion Monthly that she has no intention of changing her name. "I love Palermo and Johannes understands that," Olivia said in an interview. "I can be Mrs. Huebl at home."

When it comes to your wedding, the less you have to worry about, the more fun you can have, right? As for day-of hair, that might mean experimenting with an updo that you or your professional hairstylist can create without having to worry about it falling limp or turning into a frizzy mess because of inclement weather conditions. We think celebrities have caught on to this idea, too, because we're seeing a lot of easy styles popping up on the red carpet. Here, some of our favorites for your wedding day.

Topknot (above)
At Chanel's Haute Couture show in Paris this week, Nina Dobrev demonstrated how to wear a topknot and give it an easy, glamorous vibe. To get her look, don't go too crazy with the hairspray (you may not even need it!) because a few flyaways will keep this statement 'do looking soft and modern. Since this style is high up and away your face, feel free to rock a gown with an intricate neckline. Whether it's jeweled, a one-shoulder or off-the-shoulder, the possibilities with this one are endless.

Side Braid
Olivia Palermo — or should we say Mrs. Johannes Huebl — is the queen of the perfectly-imperfect updo. (For her recent wedding, after all, she rocked an "uncontrived ponytail," as she wrote on her website.) But that certainly wasn't the first time she paired a low-key hairstyle with a formal ensemble. This low braid is one of Olivia's go-to styles and we couldn't be more on board with it. Let's break it down: A center part creates that cool, Kate-Moss vibe. Secondly, the braid is textured all the way from the top of the head to the ends, so it doesn't matter if a few wisps of hair get caught in the wind during your ceremony. Just make sure you secure it with a clear elastic so you don't detract attention from the overall look, and pair it with a strapless gown so there isn't too much going on up top.

Halo Braid
This halo braid is intricate, face framing, and oh-so perfect for a garden wedding. Even though it might take longer to create — it's a French braid that encircles the entire head — you can be sure it will stay put for a few days after your wedding. Have a round face? Take a tip from Chloë Grace Moretz and balance your face shape by adding a bit of volume on top. This style would look especially gorgeous paired with cap-sleeves or delicate spaghetti straps.

Emma Watson Hair

Low Chignon
Whether you want to put the focus on a statement lip or you're just going for that chic, minimalist thing, a simple low bun like Emma Watson's will do the trick. From the deep, side-parted chignon and pink lipstick to her single Dior pearl earring, she totally nailed it. We wouldn't be surprised if a bride wanted to copy the entire look right down to the single statement earring — this hairstyle is a great time to show off a fashion-forward accessory, after all. Even the high, round neckline is a perfect outfit pairing. Just maybe find a similar dress in white.

Zoe Saldana Hair

Rolled Updo
We love this rolled hairstyle as is, but the ever-stylish Zoë Saldana added a Jennifer Behr hairpiece to make it stand out that much more. (Quick tip: Adding a sparkly hair accessory is also a super easy way to add polish to a simple hairstyle for a black-tie wedding.) This style might look a bit complicated, but it's much more simple to create. Just roll your hair away from your face, securing with bobby pins as you go. Finish with flexible-hold hairspray and it will withstand even the craziest dance moves at your reception.

This past weekend may have come to a close, but we're still dreaming about Olivia Palermo's unconventional yet impossibly chic wedding-day ensemble. The shorts! The jutting tulle skirt overlay! The creamy cashmere sweater! Everything about this layered look is as trend-setting as it is unique.

And though she may be the first star to walk down the aisle in shorts, Olivia isn't the first celebrity to say "I do" in something nontraditional. Several boundary-pushing stars have skipped the all-white look, and instead opted for a colorful wedding dress.

While Olivia may have stuck to a classic cream, we know the street-style star would approve of fully-saturated dresses (which, FYI, have also been super popular on recent bridal runways!). From Kaley Cuoco's recent petal Vera Wang gown to Jessica Biel's pink Giambattista Valli number and Keira Knightley's blush Chanel (which she's re-worn a handful of times), plenty of Hollywood's A-listers have expressed their personal style with color.

Yet this tradition of bending the bridal rules is nothing new for celebs — Sofia Coppola wore a perfectly understated lilac Azzedine Alaïa dress in 2011, Gwen Stefani's rocked a dip-dyed John Galliano custom dress back in 2002 (10-plus years before ombre became a big bridal player), and even Elizabeth Taylor beamed in canary yellow chiffon frock when she married on-again-off-again-love Richard Burton for the first time in 1964.

Olivia Palermo is Married Official Picture with Johannes Huebl

Photo: Courtesy of Johannes Huebl/OliviaPalermo.com

We called it! Our very own June/July cover girl, Olivia Palermo, married her longtime love Johannes Huebl this weekend in Bedford, New York! While it wasn't a civil ceremony at City Hall, the ever-so-fashionable former reality-TV-star-turned-style-icon exchanged vows with her German model fiancé in front of a few close family members and friends. The super-private ceremony took place in an ivy-and-flower strewn private party befitting of the often closed-door couple.

"We really wanted to keep this beautiful day very private and special to us and enjoyed the whole day with our family and two friends. Bedford is such an amazing and romantic countryside," Olivia told her eponymous site, OliviaPalermo.com.

In typical Olivia style, the fashion maven kept her look understated and chic. She customized her wedding-day ensemble — all off which was crafted by her bridal favorite Carolina Herrera — by wearing a cashmere sweater sparsely embellished with ostrich feathers on top of white shorts that boasted a tulle skirt overlay featuring layers of satin, silk, and a high hem featuring floral details embroidered along the edge.

As for her beauty, she stuck to a simple pony tail (just like our cover!) and natural-looking makeup. "I wanted the makeup to be light and fresh and more focused about the lashes while keeping the eyes clean," the star noted.

Her signature satin, deep royal blue Manolo Blahnik pumps acted as her "something blue," while stud earrings by Alexandra Mor and a bracelet bought while visiting Jodhpur, India finished off her look. Johannes complemented his gorgeous bride in a bespoke tailored white Marc Anthony Hamburg suit, plus a navy Charvet tie and matching Etro pocket square.

After their big day came to a close, the newlywed couple headed back to their home in New York City. We can only imagine the honeymoon that's to come for these two!

Could it be?! According to The New York Post's Page Six and other reports, our June/July cover girl, Olivia Palermo, married her fiancé Johannes Huebl on Saturday!

The couple of six-and-a-half years reportedly tied the knot in a "secret, quickie" ceremony at City Hall in Manhattan; some details remain a bit murky. Though outlets are reporting that Palermo and Huebl got married on Saturday, City Hall informed us that the office is closed to weddings on weekends. Additionally, Palermo has yet to confirm the stories. However, sources close to the couple are saying that the civil ceremony is a precursor to a larger celebration set to happen later this year.

Palermo's spokeswoman, Barbara Saint-Aime, refuted any reports that their top-secret marriage is related to issues concerning German-born Huebl's visa. "They had always planned to have a small civil wedding in June. The whole visa thing is not relevant," Saint-Aime said. "They have been together for six-and-a-half years, they got engaged this past January. They travel so much during the summer, they really don't have much time to plan things. They are not married yet. They are doing a much smaller civil ceremony in the States this month and they are planning to do something much larger later on."

In fact, many expect that Palermo and Huebl will move forward with the St. Bart's wedding they've been planning. Huebl, a model, proposed to his fiancée on the Caribbean island on New Year's Eve.

Palermo herself has been characteristically discreet about her exact plans. In her Brides cover story, she hinted at a meaningful destination wedding. "Johannes' friends and family are all over Europe and my parents are happy to travel, so it will probably be somewhere in the middle," she told us. "Then you will always have a special place in your heart for the destination where you got married."

We're waiting on pins and needles to hear if the rumors are true! We're sure, after all, that she did her City Hall ceremony the Carrie Bradshaw way — a crisp, timeless, tailored outfit.

Olivia Palermo Brides Magazine Interview

When it comes to enviable style, Olivia Palermo is one of the first people who comes to mind. So who better to look to for wedding-day style advice than our June/July cover girl? The reality star-turned-fashion icon (who happens to be engaged!) is dishing her top tips for planning a cool, covetable that would earn any trendsetter's seal of approval.

Bridal doesn't exclusively equal white.
When asked if she would wear classic bridal white or ivory, Olivia shared, "Not head to toe. I always like to incorporate little pops of color."

It's surprisingly easy for any bride to emulate the star's style.
"Look at ready-to-wear. Check out Marchesa, Oscar, or Carolina shows online," Olivia said. "And even if your dream dress comes right off the rack, add your own touch. Play with color. It's all about styling."

Don't skimp on the reception décor.
"I want them to have cool, styled details," Olivia says. As for food? That's no place to skimp on either. "The food has to be really, really good!"

Every bride should have a wedding mantra.
"My wedding mantra is beautiful flowers. All I care about are beautiful flowers," Olivia says. "I love peonies and tulips in light pinks."

The wedding shouldn't be just about the bride.
Olivia reveals that her wedding planning is a collaboration between and her crazy-handsom fiancé Johannes Huebl. "At the end of the day, it's about the two of us, and that's the most important thing," Olivia says. "People shouldn't lose sight of that."
