While slimming, smoothing, lifting, and tucking shapewear might be the first thing you think of when you start looking for what you'll wear under your wedding gown, it's not the only option, especially if you're opting for an A-line, ball gown, or a fitted silhouette with a less skin-tight shape or more textured fabric. If you want something skimpy or sleek, more power to you, but if you want something comfy that you'll be happy to wear for a 12-hour day? These adorable undies are for you!

It's the sexiest night of the year, the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show! But the first thing that comes to mind for us is, of course, wedding night lingerie. Maybe you won't be wearing angel wings (or maybe you WILL be?), but one thing's for sure, you'll definitely be wanting to put your sexiest self forward in a lacy little number. And who better to serve as inspiration than Kendall Jenner (a VS Fashion Show newbie), Behati Prinsloo, Lily Aldridge, and the rest of the angel squad?

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show special airs tonight on CBS, and while you're enjoying Selena Gomez, The Weeknd, and Ellie Goulding's performances, don't forget to take notes on perfecting the sexy angel look for your wedding night. Here, our favorite looks that go from runway to honeymoon suite, just like that.

Something Blue
If sweet ingenue is your thing, nothing says sexy and sweet like a little blue neglige. Plus, you can totally check the "Something Blue" off your list. Kendall Jenner, Jasmine Tookes and Sui He graced the VS Fashion Show runway in blue separates, adorned with the requisite embroidery — velvet, beading, and of course a little lace. Tookes and Jenner's long sleeves add a bohemian romantic vibe that's sure to make your new husband forget he's tired from all the wedding planning and partying.

Classic White Lace
There's nothing more classic than white lace on the wedding night. Give it a little oomph with a corset, a garter, or some feathered details like the Victoria's Secret girls. Our favorite for adding a twist to this classic? The barely there bodysuit, complete with crochet detailing and a plunging (almost belly button grazing) neckline.

Angelic Brides
And while all eyes were definitely on Kendall Jenner at the runway show, the most style-savvy member of the Kardashian clan has not made her way down the aisle quite yet. But not to fret, many of her fellow angels have played the role of bride, and of course they did it in perfect style. Lily Aldridge in Vera Wang, Behati Prinsloo in blush pink Marchesa, Reem Acra for BRIDES cover girl Arlenis Sosa, and the list goes on and on. Up next down the aisle, Candace Swanepoel, who announced her engagement to fellow model Hermann Nicol in August.

Common Wedding Undergarment Mistakes

It's what's on the inside that really counts! Yep, we're talking about your undergarments. Because without the right skivvies your wedding dress could look oh so wrong (just trust us on this one, brides). While it's certainly not as thrilling as saying yes to the dress, being smart about buying your bridal lingerie will get you one step closer to achieving the perfect fit. And isn't that the whole goal?

Failing to get fitted for a bra
Let's face it: you're not a 36C cup as much as you'd like to believe you are. Take time to be properly measured, urges Kleinfeld Fashion Director Terry Hall. "Most women don't know their real bra (or band) size, which can make all the difference in the world when it comes to fit. Not only will you look better, but you'll feel better too!"

Not putting any thought into it
Every great gown starts with equally as great undergarments. That's a fact, according to Hall. "I often hear some brides say, 'Just sew me into the dress and make it look perfect.' However, that's not a very wise or realistic approach." Wedding undergarments can range from pasties to a full bustier on top and Spanx to your birthday suit on the bottom, depending on your body, the style of the dress and how daring you want to be, he notes. Above all though, what's underneath should be multifunctional, flattering your figure and your dress, while still being comfortable and easy to sit, dance and eat in. You'd hate to be that bride picking out a wedgie or pulling up her bra the entire night.

Buying shapewear that's too small
It can make you look bigger! Instead, choose foundational undergarments that are smoothing, flexible and, most importantly, in your correct size, stresses Hall. "Wearing shapewear like Spanx will have the opposite effect if you're wearing one too small."

Trying to save a buck
Don't be afraid to invest in good quality lingerie. After all, you're worth it brides! But seriously, as Hall points out, "the proper foundational undergarments can make an inexpensive dress look expensive and vice versa." So this is one area you shouldn't skimp on.

Because it's what's underneath that counts! Now that you're planning a wedding, it's the perfect time to step up your lingerie game. After all, the right bra and shapewear can completely change your life (and your future hubby's too!). Boost your confidence both in the bedroom and out of it with these top 10 picks from lingerie aficionado Antonia Townsend, founder of Enclosed.

1. The Little Black Thong
Just like the little black dress, this baby is indispensable in your lingerie collection. As Townsend points out, every girl needs a go-to, no show, basic black thong that makes her look and feel amazing no matter the outfit.

2. Control Garment(s)
You can't control everything, but your shapewear can! Whether you're a size 6 or a 16, a quality pair of tummy control panties will instantly smooth out your silhouette and give you the boost of confidence you need to totally kill it at your next event.

3. A Basic Bra
Get it right, get it tight! Although a great fitting plain Jane bra may not be the sexiest thing on the rack, your own rack will appreciate the support. So go get fitted if you haven't already, urges Townsend. And while you're at it, invest in a simple strapless style too.

4. A Convertible Bra
That way, you can actually rock the funky frock that's been hanging in your closet for ages. "Yes, a convertible bra may look like the crazy complex top you saw a girl at Burning Man wearing on its own, but you need it," tells Townsend. "It should have a halter, low-back, crisscross and one shoulder option."

5. A Nude Bra and Panty
Something to wear under whites and sheers that matches your skin tone is a must, notes Townsend. "Gone are the days when nude meant pasty shades of putty. Find smooth underwear that is one shade darker than your natural color for the undergarments to best blend in."

6. Barely-There Underwear
Visible panty line, be gone! Be it a chic boyshort or a booty-revealing G-string, Townsend says you'll definitely want to have a no-show solution on hand for those clingy-fabric, slinky silk dress kind of nights. "I love Commando brand, but you should pick your favorite," she advises.

7. Period Panties That Aren't Gross
"You're about to be a Mrs. so it's about time you ditch those really nasty, 'but they're my backup' pair of panties you've been hoarding in case." Just because your Aunt Flo came for a quick visit doesn't mean you have to resort to rocking raggedy panties. Buy some basic cotton styles that are cute but comfy and dark in color.

8. Wicking Workout Wear
Wick it real good! Seriously though, a seriously excellent sports bra is totes worth the investment, says Townsend. "Purchase a new one (or two) every few months, as these bras do take a beating."

9. Something Classically Naughty
Or clandestine, as Townsend calls it. "It should be somewhat illicit and for a select audience only. Perhaps some knickers that reveal your backside? Or even, dare we say, crotchless!"

10. A Special Request Item
A.K.A. every husband's dream! Ask him what he prefers, and then surprise him with the one piece he's always secretly wanted to see you in, suggests Townsend. Playboy bunny fantasy? Buy knickers with a pom pom cottontail and bunny ears to match. Naughty schoolgirl dreams? "Yup, go get yourself that kilt and knee socks. He'll love you all the more for it."

Tips for Hottest Honeymoon Sex from Real Brides

Have you ever slipped something sexy on underneath your clothes, eager for the end of your date when your significant other will surely gaze at you with cartoon-big eyes, only to find he takes off that pricy, lacy lingerie without a second glance? It's enough to make any woman never want to waste the money again — even for her honeymoon. But before you decide to scratch lingerie off and add boy-shorts to your packing list, consider a few expert points.

"You should still pack lingerie for your honeymoon," says sex expert Nikki Ransom-Alfred. "Lingerie makes you feel sexy, and the sexier you feel the sexier and more adventurous you will be in the bedroom. Also, lingerie can make sex hotter and more exciting, which results in better erections, a more intense sex session, and stronger orgasms." What's not to like about that?

If you're worried your new husband will still pass over your lingerie to get straight to the main event, take time before you purchase anything to see what he might like.

"Get a feel for his tastes and his opinion on your lingerie and other sexy-wear so you'll know what will really turn him on," Ransom-Alfred says. "Different items will affect different men in varying ways, and clothing that turn men on can range anywhere from a simple matching bra and panty set to fishnet bodysuits, silk lace nighties and crotchless panties." If you want to guarantee he'll stay tuned in for the show, consider letting him pick out an item or two. "This way, you know that you are buying and wearing what he wants to see and will pay attention to."

And don't toss anything you buy after he's seen it — you'll get your money's worth by wearing it again. "Ladies should definitely invest in a lingerie wardrobe, from mild to wild, to keep things exciting and fresh in the bedroom long after the honeymoon," Ransom-Alfred says.

Some like it sweet, and some like it hot! When it comes to wedding-night lingerie, everyone has different tastes. From cute and classic to fifty shades of grey status, there is a a style out there for every bride. We tapped lingerie aficionado Antonia Townsend, founder of Enclosed, to find out what your wedding night skivvies say about you.

Bridal Corset With Garter Suspenders
Nice during the day and naughty at night! You're the ultimate good girl gone bad. As a teen you spent many an afternoon thumbing through the mass-market lingerie catalogues from Victoria's Secret and Macy's just dreaming of this evening, details Townsend. "This is the moment you've been waiting for. Now, let's hope your honey shares your fantasy."

Totally Sheer, Ruffled Romper
No need to sacrifice comfort for fashion. You're consistently chic and right on trend, whether you're in the bedroom or hitting the town. "You're the savvy bride that knows that sheer numbers are always stylish and alluring," notes Townsend. "Not to mention flattering on all shapes and sizes. A waft of chiffon, and your new spouse is captivated!"

An Evening Gown-Esque Lingerie Dress
One dress wasn't enough for you, was it? Hey, we don't blame you, glam goddesses! "You have a different outfit for each stage of the wedding weekend, and this for-his-eyes-only number makes you feel fashionable and confident like your usual self," says Townsend.

A Sweet Lace Camisole With Matching Panties
Sugar and spice and everything nice, or are you? "You're that rare breed that actually might be a virgin on this sacred wedding night," tells Townsend.

An Exquisite Leavers Lace Bra and Panty Set
Only the finest will do for this classic bride! "A traditionalist at heart, you realize beauty is in the details and will settle for nothing less than the best, intricate lacy number for your wedding night," predicts Townsend. "While it may feel awkward to think about, you know your mother would approve."

The Shapewear Girdle Contraption You Wore Under Your Dress
Bubbly and outgoing, you're the girl whose social calendar is always chocked full of fun stuff. AKA you're the life of the party, and your wedding will certainly be no exception. As Townsend points out, you may not plan on passing out in your smooth-under-the-dress compression garment, but hey things happen, right? "The Sunday wedding brunch will definitely be a bit of a struggle."

A Bow-Backed Bunny Number
So you picked a saucy bow-backed style? Ow, ow! "You probably don't take yourself too terribly seriously," says Townsend. "You understand that lingerie is really all about the unwrapping, and you're ready to have some fun."

Less is more: A phrase that has probably not passed your lips in wedding discussions about flowers, food and music... But lingerie? Yes, less is definitely more there. 3. Posh Playsuit

4. Playful Boho
Fo the cool, laid back bride, opt for pastel pinks in oh-so-breezy material that keeps things feminine and fun. Apia Playsuit, $155, Asceno available at Journelle

5. Comfy Cotton
The piping and cotton design may be borrowed from your grandpa's old fashion sleep set, but that's where the similarities end. Mint coloring, lilac satin-trim and a sexy sweetheart neckline make this playful and feminine. Bella Romper PJ, $80, Cosabella

Shafonne Myers, owner and CEO of Pretty Pear Bride, the world's only magazine for plus-size brides, knows a thing or two about fashion and weddings. As a certified wedding and event planner and a gal with a serious love of all-things weddings (and a former bride herself), Shafonne understands the unique challenges plus-size brides face.

Shopping for plus-size lingerie can be tough since not all stores carry bigger sizes. And those that do, often have a limited selection. So what's a curvy bride-to-be to do when looking for that sexy wedding-night look? Just remember these three tips to make the process a little less stressful — and a lot more fun.

Remember it's all about the perfect fit.
Size is everything when dealing with lingerie. Some think that going with a smaller size will make them look slimmer, but that's not true. Instead, choosing a the right size will not only flatter you more, but it will also be way more comfortable. The right size should highlight your best assets and hide the negative.

Embrace color.
Don't be afraid to incorporate a fun pop of color. If you're looking for something to show your sexy side, add some shades of red. Want to show off the softer side? Think pastels. You don't have to wear all black.

Be confident.
Lingerie is meant to make you feel and look sexy and it's hard to do that when you aren't feeling confident. Don't be afraid of your curves and hide behind them — embrace them!

Boudoir shoots can be very daunting for women, including plus-size brides. While the thought of being photographed in, ahem, very little clothing can be down right frightening, it doesn't have to be! Here are a few tips on how to master a bridal boudoir shoot as a plus-size bride. (We promise your fiancé will love it!)

1. Embrace Your Body
Your partner is marrying you for you — that means he loves every single curve, dimple and imperfection. As your striking a pose, it's important to remember that. Confidence is sexy, so the more you embrace your body, the hotter your pictures will be.

2. Be Comfortable
Find a photographer that puts you at ease. Look for a professional who has experience shooting curvy women so you can ensure he or she knows which angles and poses work best for plus-size brides. Also make sure that you are comfortable with the location and wardrobe. (In most cases you will bring along your own wardrobe.)

3. Don't Be Afraid of the Camera
Let's face it: Unless you're Jennifer Lopez or Kim Kardashian, you're not used to having your picture taken professionally. But instead of being on big ball of nerves at your shoot, try to have fun and trust that your photographer knows what he or she is doing. After all, you get to choose which photos you keep (and which ones you toss), so it's okay to try different looks.
